Virtual Vision Health announced new features to its Virtual Eye platform—an advanced VR vision testing system offering immersive visual field, progression analysis, and functional eye assessments. The latest updates include additional language support, new Ocular Motility and Cover Testing modules, and multiexam integration, the company said in a press release.
Now with 30 supported languages, Virtual Eye enables practices to engage with more patients. The expanded Virtual Assistant provides real-time voice guidance in multiple languages, ensuring patients understand testing instructions clearly while doctors conduct assessments across diverse populations.
In addition, Virtual Vision Health’s new diagnostic modules, Ocular Motility and Cover Testing, bring precision, automation, and quantitative data to these assessments, the company said. The Ocular Motility feature uses integrated eye-tracking sensors to measure eye movement smoothness, range, and coordination, helping clinicians identify subtle abnormalities such as strabismus or nerve dysfunction. Similarly, the Cover Testing module automates the detection of tropias and phorias using standardized VR targets and high-resolution tracking to measure even the most minor deviations.
Virtual Vision Health said together, these tools provide consistent, reproducible results and generate comprehensive digital reports that can be compared over time, improving diagnostic confidence and monitoring of progression or postsurgical outcomes. The immersive VR environment also enhances patient engagement, turning what was once a tedious test into a more intuitive and comfortable experience, the company said.
In addition, the multiexam feature allows clinicians to consecutively conduct multiple tests in a single session without recalibrating or restarting the device. These tests include Cover Tests, Ocular Motility, Color Sensitivity, and Pupillography.
The company will showcase its latest innovations and conduct live demonstrations at the American Academy of Ophthalmology annual meeting.
