Carrot (formerly Virtual Field) announced an agreement to acquire GreenMan Vision, Inc., the company behind InSightVR. The deal will add intraocular lens (IOL) simulation for cataract surgery to the Carrot Platform and expand Carrot from vision diagnostics into vision simulation, the company said in a press release. 

Using each patient’s own biometry, InSightVR shows how the patient could see with monofocal, toric, multifocal, extended-depth-of-focus, and adjustable lenses, including monovision strategies, before surgery. InSightVR puts patients inside everyday scenes—from reading to night driving—where they can compare simulated visual outcomes with different lens types, the company said.
